Hi, I’m Karina, and for the past 12 years, I’ve been creating wooden painted gifts that are dear to my heart. My inspiration comes from David Tait, one of the founders of Lilliput Lane, where I initially painted miniature cottages. After leaving, I attended a woodworking class where David also participated. His mentorship guided me in crafting these gifts from wood, advising on materials and paints.

Tragically, after David passed away from cancer, I felt compelled to create cottages from wood, hand-painting them to capture the essence of those in Cumbria. Living near the Lake District has fueled my creativity, with an abundance of beautiful cottages providing endless ideas. I use recycled wood, screws, nails, and materials to bring my imaginative pieces to life.

My artistic journey includes studying Art O level, attending art college, and later exploring pottery and ceramics at Carlisle College. Painting these little gifts transports me into my own world, and I’ve learned to prioritise doing what I love and what brings me happiness. Each piece is a unique creation, and I take joy in the process of inventing new designs.
